When I heard about the passing of Gunther Köhler I was deeply shocked. So young, much too early.

I will cherish the fond memories I have of Gunther. His knowledge of Green and Black Iguanas taught me a lot. His inspiring contributions to the Dutch Iguana Society, his warm welcome when I visited the meetings of the German Iguana Society and the discussions at his home and of course our joint work on Utila, I will never forget these.

We lose a great, inspiring scientist and above all a very pleasant person.
I wish his loved ones, friends and family all the strength in coping with this loss.
